Fur Free Forever

Fur Free Forever

Gemanie Mabey

Ever year over 50 million animals are inhumanely killed for their fur. This needs to stop. One of the main influences into this is our celebrity icons constantly promoting the cruel fashion. The truth is that people are naively ignoring these facts to buy those 'cute' shoes or 'nice' bag to remain within the trend, the scary thing about it is that these 'trends' last weeks or months which is nothing compared to the 18 red foxes or 100 squirrels used to make a coat. What people don't realize is that these defenseless animals are slaughtered by means of pain and torture, such as suffocation or electrocution; all this is in or to preserve the fur for selfish people. As a 21st Century, average trend following student; I want to fight this; however I am only one person; TOGETHER we can ALL make this STOP.

i think its downright disgusting. also considering the fact that your family, so i hear, gemanie, are fox hunters. having found this out i have reported you to the trust where they will take this further. sorry to everyone else who was taken by this.

i hate people killing animals for clothes also the fact people never think about the animal that went into their clothes they just think about the cool clothes on the racks. i want this to end because people can not keep killing animals because they will go extinct

I totally agree with this. I recently joined a protest against the great british circus and find that animal cruelty issues are massively understated, people think they can just ignore them because they're not right in their face.

End the suffering NOW!!

I don't think that leather is any less inhumane however I can only focus on one thing at a time as it makes campaigning alot more effective. But I do understand your point. and no i didnt kill the animal in the photo he's my dog! I love him too bits.

Gemanie Mabey, 14 February 2009 10:57

if you killed this animal for the fur I HATE YOU SO MUCH

alyse and regine, 03 February 2009 18:35

i think its really bad.they wouldnt like if they were skined we should find something else to use instead of fur

katie, 29 December 2008 21:10

DEFINATELY interested in this campaign!! such an important issue to me, have you done any promoting at all?

Rachel, 10 December 2008 17:18

Did you know in China they skin animals alive for their fur, and some of them are still alive afterwards for several minutes afterwards? I think this has to be one of the most worthy issues to campaign on, although there are groups campaigning on this already, so not sure if it will win as there are other ones which might be unique. I don't mean to be negative just honest and I personally do go on anti-fur leafletting and demos, and anything for animal rights. Can I ask why leather is different? Is it because the animals are killed for food, and can I ask what makes you think that is any less cruel and inhumane since we don't need to eat or wear animals at all? Lesley (Vegan 4 Life)

Lesley, 02 December 2008 16:00

I am only focusing on fur for my campaign as I think leather is a different issue. Thank you for your support everyone.

gemanie mabey, 01 October 2008 12:57
